Looking for sustainability, U.S. Tax Consultants have lots of reasons to implement sustainable practices in our workplace, not only is it good for the environment, but it improves the health and satisfaction of our staff, and reduce some of the costs that we have had traditionally.

Go Paperless

This has been our goal for the last three years, drastic reduction of paper use in our regular daily work, implementing the new available technologies. We must prepare the US Tax Returns on paper, so it is not possible to go completely paperless, but we make sure that we use paper in both sides and reuse it as much as possible. We now use digital documents which are easier and more affordable to store and retrieve. The documents can be accessed from anywhere, letting us to remotely work from home in special circumstances. Since our business data is very sensitive, we have a shredding company, 29 Ecológica S.L.U, that recycles the paper once the information has been destroyed.

Recycle

Using recycled paper, using of both sides of each sheet of paper, recycling of the toner cartridges at the appropriate recycling packaging containers, following the ECOEMBES legacy… helps to do so. We separate the standard garbage in different beans, while electronic waste such as old monitors, printers, computers and cables, mobile phones are dropped off at our nearest Tech Containers Center for recycling.

Energy reduction

Reducing the electricity bill is not only good for the environment, but also our bottom line. We have complete control of the office temperature with the right balance of comfort and cost, by setting the thermostat a few degrees lower in winter and a few degrees higher in summer, we have installed LED technology lamps around the office, we have disable in all computers the screensavers and all equipment get switch off when they’re not being used.

Plants addition

We have added some greenery to our office that has brighten up our office interior design. We thank the gifts from some of our clients. Employees are happier and perform better when living plants are added to the workplace. Plants also emit oxygen and reduce air pollution, making the air cleaner and healthier to breathe. It also reduces noise pollution.

As electricity supplier we have Holaluz from Clidom Enery SL which is a technology company dedicated to the commercialization of electricity from 100% renewable source.
